International Fashion Festival Porto Montenegro
is a glamorous annual gathering bringing together some of the world’s most prestigious designers in a unique waterfront setting. With more than 20 years of international experience, Belgrade-based agency Fabrika, heads up the logistics of the festival, which hosts international fashion icons, celebrities and even royalty.
This year's Green Edition showcased the work od the first sustainable haute couture designer Ronald Van Der Kemp, and AKKA had an honour to present its Archaic Future collection the same night.
Archaic future is a collection of seamless, single material garments which examines aesthetics and functionality of Montenegrin national costume - a symbol of freedom, dignity, and equality. Patterns are digitally adjusted and laser cut to transpose into new aesthetics which maintains ornaments at an evocative level. Costumes are made from pinatex and wool, both sustainable and biodegradable materials.
